ok
When ever I try and split an AVI file, or try to join 2 files....
It goes for about 40 seconds and then I get the following error
"Unable to to <filename>. Parameter is Incorrect"
This happens EVERY time!
What is going on?
I followed the instruction to the T from the afonic video guide listed here on this site
The files were recently transfered to my computer from a miniDV camcorder via Firewire cable-
I am using "WinDV" to transfer the footage FROM the camcorder TO the computer
Any ideas?

I take it that the files you are trying to use are DV AVIS - correct? If that's the case, you will need to install a DV codec in order for Virtualdub to read the files. There is a good freeware one available - the Panasonic DV codec. This will enable you to read in DV files, and also output the results (i.e. encode) as DV as well.
The new experimental version of Virtualdub (1.6.0) has a built in DV decoder, but no encoder."Just another sheep boy, duck call, swan
song, idiot son of donkey kong - Julian Cope"
