adam, the AEC modes in a nutshell:
- "Maximum Sharpness" will try to reach DVD Shrink target size by first compressing the B-frames.
It will then work on the I then P-frames.
- "Maximum Smoothness" will try and reach the target size by spreading the compression more evenly.
- The other settings are in-betweens.![]()

adam, I have compressed chapter 3 of the "Matrix" at 50%, using the four AEC options.
What part would you be interested in viewing (the whole chapter is 50MB)? -
I was just using that as an example. I wanted him to tell us a section where he was experiencing this problem and tell us his settings, so that we could perform the process and see it ourselves rather then have to rely on him to host the file.
Thanks for explaining the AEC settings though. -
