i got a movie on sVCD Format. I cant seem to play with correctly in my computer (winXP) with PowerDVD. it starts out nicely... but after 10 minutes into the movie, the video cant catch up with the audio.. at first I thought maybe my CD has a scratch or something... so i copy the mpeg file onto my harddrive, and play the movie from there.. well, it turned out to be the same. but not as bad. I noticed my hard drive do alot of work trying to get this movie to play. I have a p3-700@877 w/256mb. I really dont see a problem with PC speed... and my hard drive is ata100/7200rpm.
any suggestion or idea why this is happening to me. I was planning to convert it to VCD format.. just so that I can watch the movie (using TMPGEnc).
thanks,

When the SVCD was originally multiplexed, it was probably done poorly and hence your problem with audio and video not being in sync.

thanks for your reply Evil. thats what i'm thinking too. But it looks great in standalone DVD Player.

Use a software DVD Player like winDVD or PowerDVD.
You can even use a regular CD-Rom to play on your computer with the DVD Software. I do this for my kids computers all the time.
