It's about time someone will take down what appears to be the industry standard, Internet Explorer. I like the part where all "Nooglers" are given little hats with propellers on top.

I really don't see how Microsoft could buy out Google. I haven't been keeping up with the news, but Google was suppose to start selling stock, estimates say that would make Larry Page and Sergey Brin instant billionaires.

  10. September 19, 2004 -- Google, $1.67 billion richer from its August initial public offering, is spending its money poaching the brightest minds from arch-rival Microsoft and other tech giants.
M$ had so much extra cash recently that it distributed 9 billion dollars to its shareholders. It could buy Google several times over.

Microsoft definitely would have enough money to purchase Google, but I seriously doubt they could get ahold of more than 50% of Google's stock. :P

  12. M$ could afford to pay many times over market value for the stock. If they want it, I'd imagine they could get it.

Larry Page and Sergey Brin don't seem like that type of people. They are set for life already, having that much more money doesn't really seem like it would matter.

They could just be covering there bases, a lot of companies do. I wouldn't doubt they have intentions on launching a browser but that doesn't mean they are. If they did most likely that site would turn into a redirect anyway.

I've done it myself, who do you think registered digitalnepa.com

I forget where I found out about it, but there is another neat search engine out there that you may want to have a look at.
    It is called www.a9.com .
It uses Google plus a bunch of other search engines to find whatever you are looking for. I like it.

Actually, probably not since Google has gone public. All companies now have "poison pill" provisions in their bylaws that prevent unwanted takeovers. He's a quote from an Associated Press article:

Among the most troublesome areas: Its establishment of a dual-class capital structure with unequal voting rights. Shares held by its founders, executives, directors and employees represent about 83 percent of the voting power, and carry 10 votes each, versus the one vote per share given to common stockholders.

And since a majority of the super-voting shares are held by Google's two founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, and its chief executive Eric Schmidt, they have significant influence over all matters requiring shareholder approval. That includes the election of directors, potential mergers and asset sales

The ads show up on the SERP's, actually worse than google there on top.
