  1. Just finished encoding a movie to Divx to test my new DVD player but I don't know how to burn it onto CD. I normally use Nero to burn my VCD/SVCD/DVDs so if I can use this or a free utility, please let me know. Also, the movie is 772MB in size so its below the usual 794 MB limit of VCDs but I don't know if this is to large an avi file to burn.

    Hello,

Divx is normal data when you burn so it has to fit the actual size of the cdr. If you have 90 or 99 minute discs it will work by using the overburn feature. If not you'll have to reencode to fit the 700mb cdr. (you could actually get a few more megabytes overburning a normal 80minute cdr but not enough to fit your file).

It is too big for a 80 min/700 MB cd.

You would either have to split the file, reencode or buy bigger blanks.

You would just use nero to burn a data cd.

Oh, did he say he wanted to PLAY it? I thought he just wanted to be able to fit it on the disc.

'Course, if he just used a computer he could play it.

Just trying to give ALL options...
