  1. hi im new to all this ive learnt decent amount but ok heres my question I have a .AVI and when i burn it to a DVD+R and play it on my dvdplayer the movie is like really tiny like theres more black bars above and below them then there is movie is there a way to resize this? or no? movie is fine just like shrunk but on my pc it plays just fine.

    You need to supply a little more info, what software are you using and what format are you using to burn the movie (e.g. DVD compliant, divx....).

  3. well when i burn the .avi i use WinDVD Creator which is probably a worthless program but it came with pc, and its .AVI soo im not sure if its divx or wut

    That looks like it's a DVD compliant program only soooo.... Two reasons why it would do that. If you specified 16:9 or widescreen when you captured or along the editing or authoring process it will display widescreen which will give you the black bars on a normal TV, just like a widscreen store bought DVD.

    Since it displays correctly on your computer I'd look in the display settings of your standalone DVD player. Your DVD palyer will letterbox it (black bars) if you specify it in the menu if it has that option. Try selecting normal as the output.

  5. thnx i found a way i used WinAVI to convert to DVD and told it to use 16:9 works awesomely

    A (helpful) note to self:

    Next time you have a question, try to supply a few more details if possible. A classic example in this case would have been details of the AVI file obtained from GSpot or AVICodec. You'll find you get a lot more specialised help rather than guesses
