  1. How many times can you re-use a mini dv tape before you notice differences in the quality. Thanks.

    If in doubt, Google it.

It depends what Tapes you are using. But I am not sure myself, I heard different numbers, from 2 times to 20 times.

Hummm, the time it's when it no longer looks good?

Seriously, there no real answer to that one. If you cam's heads are filthy, the tape may not even last one recording. Otherwize I only reuse my mini DVs for non important stuff. If I am shooting a fuction for a customer, I always start off with a fresh tape. Granted, I've ran it through the cam with the lens cap on to record the time cue through out the tape. Very important if you use professional non linear video editors.
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!

  5. Thanks, I did some research and there's mixed answers. Some say 8-10, others say 20 and some even say 50. It depends on how clean your heads are.

    Here's an interesting post:

So I'm guessing I will be fine w/ 10, which I'm content with. If I'm really froogle I can stretch it out to 10-20 uses on non important stuff. I back up my recordings on my standalone recorder.
