I never really cared for twinkies.

The chocolate ding dongs are better.

I think they are made by the same company.

I haven't been able to eat a twinkie in twelve years. I was going cross country in a car and we stopped in a convenience store next to a twinkie factory. Twinkies for $1 a box, 1 box and 3 cokes later......no more twinkies for me.

I loved the name progression on this product since the early 70's.

Originally King Dongs,to offensive-changed to Ding Dongs(still too racey)then to King Dons in the 80's and finally back to ding dongs

Another hostess product-Ho-hos I wish theyd change it to hoe-hoes

Twinkies is going to be around for a while. IBC is releasing a low carb version of prctically everything they sell. It's on the hush hush though. The place they have thier loan through is our firms parent company. That's where my Paycheck comes from. They had plans to go low carb when Atkins was still just a California thing. They just didn't think it would sell. Thoughts have changed and they may actually push it forward. No news from the new management structure on when it will happen or what's being done to move it though. However, I think they waited too long and it's costing them dearly.

I wouldn't call Lite Twinkies "Low Carb". Less sugar, Yes.

    Hello,

I just said lite, I wasn't comparing them to low carbs. I was just getting at that they were starting to move in to the diet crowd (not really but a little nudge).

Anybody familiar with business should know that bankruptcy does not equate to "going out of business".

    Hello,

Maybe not but it's not a good sign. You need positive cash flows. Kmart is BARELY reemerging from bankruptcy. It can take a long time to come back from that strategic move. Look at the US ariline industry.

People are filing for bankruptcy about as often as they change socks. Unfortunately for individuals, you can only file so many times, for a specific chapter filing, before they won't allow you to do it again. They think you're habitual and the government won't cover your a**. Younger generations are finding this out now. I know someone around my age that has already filed chapter 11 on a personal business and I think chapter 13 twice. 3 bankruptcies in roughly 25 years.

Not that it didn't happen before,

"Internet auction site eBay has 158 entries for people offering to sell Twinkies. While most of the sites have not attracted bids, or only have offers in the relatively reasonable range of a dollar or two a box, one offering has seen 11 bids, with the top price going as high as $5,150, plus the cost of shipping.
Many of the sellers on the eBay site have excited prose touting the coming shortage or end of the product. Despite the fact that Wonder Bread is the nation's most popular bread, no one is offering to sell Wonder Bread on eBay in comparable fashion."
