  1. I am trying to find out whether USV8 can be considered as a complete product that will cover the whole video production cycle satisfactorily. Here is a question to this experienced user community. UVS8 can scan the film captured and place all the scenes in the storyboard. Later when I want to build up a good DVD menu structure, it does the following: It creates an upper level menu consitituting of one item ie a thumbnail of the entire clip. Then under that as submenu a number of thumbnails of the scenes as chapters. To me unless I have two or more separately captured video flms, this upper menu is superfluous and annoying. Until now I have not found a way of getting rid of this upper menu. The ulead web boards do not say much either. I would appreciate very much if experienced users of this forum could help. Thanks.

You can create custom templates with Ulead's Photoimpact. Download the free 30 day trial and make as many as you can....

VS8 and other consumer apps give you just enough control to produce what you need. There not made to give you full control, for one it makes things easier on the novice. I used VS7 only a few times (it came free with Ulead Quartet and and two of my capture cards), that was one of the things that bothered me was you had little control. I haven't used VS8 so I can't answer you question specifically regarding the installed templates.

If your looking for something that will give you full control over your authoring projects try Ulead DVD Workshop or a comparable product.
