reading problems on GQ media

so i bought a 25 disc cake of GQ DVD+R 4x dvds from frys. the media code is VDSPMSAB001. I dont have trouble burning or playing movies off these dvds. recently, data was backed up on to these dvds (pictuers and mp3s). i have an optorite dd0203. for some reason i cannot read the disc anymore. in the beginning, right after they were burned i didnt have any trouble. but everytime after i tried to access the disc, the reading trouble got progressively worse. at first the dvds would read, but slowly, then i got crc read error, now it doesnt read at all. i updated the firmware but that didnt help. this only happens to data disc. all my movies burned with the GQ disc off the same cake still works. could the problem be that i have too many files on each disc (8000+ files)? ive tried reading these disc in a samsung dvd drive and a pioneer dvd drive, they all wont read it. so could it be that the dvds went bad already?
