*** EDIT: Problem solved; somehow DMA got turned off for my DVD drive. Turned that back on and everything runs smoothly again. ***
Greetings all; I am trying out AnyDVD and am finding it a wonderful tool for watching DVDs on my computer. However, I am running into a bit of a problem. On my laptop computer at work, the audio plays back smoothly, but on my home PC, the audio tends to be a bit choppy at times or have some hissing/distortion in the background.
Most guides, tutorials, and forum threads (here and other places) for AnyDVD seem to be geared more towards using it for ripping DVDs rather than straight playback. Does anyone have any tips AnyDVD specific or otherwise for improving audio playback? Playback before I started using AnyDVD ran smoothly on my home PC.
Specs for my home PC:
AMD Athlon XP2600 (2.08 GHz)
512 Mb DDR SDRAM
CyberDrivr 168D-B DVD-ROM 16x
WinXP Home SP1
WinDVD 4.0 (Full version)
Specs for my work laptop:
Intel Pentium M processor 1500MHz
256 Mb RAM
Matshita UJDA745 DVD/CD-RW
WinXP Pro SP1
WinDVD 4.0 DXVA
Thanks in advance.
