Looking for a reliable, competitive source for quality dye based bulk ink (at least equivalent to Epson original), would appreciate any and all recommendations. Thank you.

I live in ny and I always purchase ink at computer shows mostly and the brand I use is C&G brand ,they cost about $4.00 each and they are very good in quality.

  4. You might want to check out mediastreet. Personally I use a canon printer and media street ink is one of the best alternative inks for photographs (very high quality requirements). I seem to recall on the photography forums that mediastreet has good dye based ink for epsons too.

Let me repeat my question, I am looking for a source for quality dye based ink in bulk, NOT ink cartridges. Thank you to those who have replied but need ink, not ink cartridges.
    Thank You,

Yes, InkRepublic.com does not use any ink cartridge,
they use their own bulk ink system:

    http://www.InkRepublic.com

    take a look then.

hope you can find what you want over there.

    good luck!

  12. Did you find your inks yet golfnut?

mediastreet.com has about anything you need if you haven't found a source yet. Seems to be where alot of Pros are buying inks and papers for alot of their work too.

overloaded_ide, thanks for the reply. Not really, will probably give mediastreet a try though price seems high. Thanks for the advice, have a great day.

  14. I wouldn't let the price turn you away. Mediastreet caters to photographers where quality of the ink and accurate color reproduction is mandatory. Thier canon ink was independantly tested against canon oem ink and performed exelent. Fade resistance averaged about 90 percent (for 1/10th the price of canon ink) from this site
http://www.livick.com/. You very likly could find comparisons of epson oem ink here too.
After some arguments on a photograph forum because dry creek photo said that no third party refill ink could come close to matching the color gamut of canon ink, dry creek agreed to test it. Their ink for canons actually exceeded (slightly) the color gamut of canon ink on some papers!
If their canon refill ink is that good, I would suspect that their epson dye ink is pretty good too.
Fyi, a side not on price. You do not have to buy direct from media street. There are resellers (online at least) so you might find a beter price.

  16. I have always bought from inkjet goodies. Inkjet goodies used to market inkjet goodies ink (for canons) that is now mediastreet plug and play (for canons), same ink, diffrent names. These two companies seem to have had a buisness relationship for years. As far as the canon ink, inkjet goodies is a little cheaper but not by a huge amount (compared to mediastreets site) and they cary the media street for epsons too. Inkjet goodies also has free shipping over 75$ (or at least they used to for quite some time) so if you are getting a full kit it will probably cost that much. If it is close you can add some photo paper or something (they cary lots of stuff) to get the free shipping.

Here is mediastreets site incase you didn't have it

Get a load of this!!!! Those of you that are farmiliar with photography should be farmiliar with the name Hasselblad. Aparently Hasselblad has just become the exclusive US distributor for mediastreet ink and you will now be able to find it locally in photography stores!!!

From the looks of things, it may already be avalable locally.
I did a google search and found another
    http://www.adorama.com/catalog.tpl?page=searchresults&searchinfo=media%20street
I think there are others too.
    edit
another option. Here is Hasselblad's site. Click on the locate your dealer button on the botom. find a local hasselblad dealer and see if they carry the ink (I'm not sure if it is actually in stores yet).
