  1. Hi everyone, I have a 480 x 288 25 fps DiVX .avi that I'm trying to convert to VCD with TPMGEnc; however, I get the "can not open, or not supported" error. I've moved the Direct Show up on the priority but still can't get TMPGEnc to open the file. I have all the right codecs since other DiVX .avi's will open.

Is it possible for me to do this conversion? Thanks

Open the avi in Virtualdubmod, then frameserve into TMPGENC.

  3. Hi Forum Troll,

When I try to open the file in VirtualDUB, I get the error:

Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'DX50'

VirtualDub requires a video for windows compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable.

What can I do from here? Thanks

I had a similar problem converting DIVX. Turns out I had an old version. Try going to the DIVX site and downloading their latest installer/version. That might help.
