I'm interested in doing an instructional video on operating a computer and need to know if there is a program that would capture what's on my monitor directly to a video file. Any leads? I plan on recording a voice over for the captured footage and then mux it all together onto a dvd.

One word of warning, if you're planning on showing the DVD on a TV, you may have to apply a slight vertical gaussian blur to the AVI before building to MPEG.
The fine horizontal lines on computer displays can result in a "jumpy" picture on the TV due to interlacing."Just another sheep boy, duck call, swan
song, idiot son of donkey kong - Julian Cope"
