  1. Hi

After I converted my DivX to MPEG2 and burned it out on a DVD i noticed that on my TV (4:3) the picture gets both its left and right part of the picture a outside the TV border, and the bottom and upper part is also outside the TV border. Its like I'm zooming in on the whole picture and only see the center of the picture. I do not loose very much of the picture, but I would like to not loose anything at all. It works correctly on my PC, I only have this problem on my TV. What can I do to fix this?

    Thanx

  2. As far as I know this is normal. There is an amount of border that the Telly won't show but your PC will show the whole picture.

What are you using to convert? If it is TMPGEnc then there is a way to border the MPEG file (while not loosing any of the picture) so that the full picture is showing on your Telly.

  3. Thanx for your reply.

I am using CCE for encoding because of the speed I get when using it with D2SRoBa (2 hours per movie instead of 6 hours like with QuEnc or TMPGEnc)

Hmm, could it be that I chose anamorpic aspect ratio? I want the picture to be good both on a normal TV (4:3) and a Widescreen TV (16:9).

Anyway I could use TMPGEnc if nesesary, but in that case it would be the old version beta 12a because the trial of the new one already expired and I dont have the money to buy it (and I wont use a cracked version, all I do has to be legal)

    I use DVD2SVCD (AVI2DVD) to generate these DVD's
    Any help would be appreciated

I think you'll find this "cropping" is what is known as overscan. In order to negate the effect of this, you need to crop your video and then add black borders to it, so that the black borders get "lost" in the overscan area. The difficulty comes when different TVs have different size overscan areas, so it can take a bit of trial and error before you perfect it.
    If in doubt, Google it.
