It's the card, not the video source.

I have the Resampel audio checked but not the streams one. Do I have to have both enabled?

Capture something with the resample audio dynamically option checked. THen open your captured AVI in VirtualDub and pull up the file info. Compare the stream lengths. If they are different, enter the difference as your delay offset. Positive or negative value, depending on which stream is ahead of the other.

This one time I can say you are wrong.

I just did some testing over the weekend. I captured 2 hours of broadcast from my cable channels. No sync issues at all.

I captured video from a VHS tape and no sync after 1 hour.

I captured from a BetaMax tape and it has sync issues after 30 minutes.

My Hi8 has sync issues after only 8 minutes. I've been capturing in segments, then encoding and combining the MPG files afterwards with really good results.

I still say card. Maybe the signal is not clean enough? This is a BIG problem for digital video. TBC?

I think it could be the cheapo Sounblaster card, but I'm not real sure the Hi8 isn't dying.

It records perfectlym but to play a tape I have to fast forward the tape for about a minute or two then rewind, then let it play for a bit. It plays, then stutters then plays, Then after a few minutes it smooth again with great picture. I wonder if it is fluctuating enough during playback to mess it up.

Are there some gears or guides that need lubricated? It's never been cleaned or adjusted.

man, was I pissy in all of this topic or what? I can't beleive you guys still helped me. hehe

OK, this is going to hurt.....Smurf....you were right!

I removed the SB Live and used the integrated audio on my MB which had good reviews. Not perfect sync, but I can record 30 minutes at a time now with good sync whereas before I could only do 3-5 minutes at a time.

Now I have a MiniDV camera on it's way and more to learn!
