    Hi,

    I'm a newbie wanting to move all my treasures from VHS tapes to VCD. I've checked all the how-to guides but yeah, I still have no idea what programs/hardware/software I need. I know there is always PC card mentioned, but I just want to know the exact stuffs I need to buy to do the conversion.

    Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

    Hello,

    You can either get a settop dvd recorder for ease of use or a capture card (interal or external for the computer). If you want to create dvds on the computer you need a dvd burner as well as a capture card. Cd burners can create vcds from a capture card if that is all you want.
