  1. I was just recording something using my tv capture card..all the sudden it freezes but I could still hear the sound. My only option was to restart my pc. I thought restarting would fix it but it just created this problem where the line-in audio dosent stop playing. I can still hear audio from it whenever i start my pc. The only way i can stop it, is if i mute the line-in from the sound panel.

I tried uninstalling the program that came with my card(pctvision), and the drivers. But it didnt do nothing. Any suggestions? Is my sound card busted?

Ummm I'm not sure but I think that's the way it's supposed to work....

If a line is enabled and it is receiving a siganl it's going to play it. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

The program should mute the line-in for you when you shut it down but a windows freeze will keep it open on reboot so you have to mute it by yourself.

The capture application or the PVR on the PC is supposed to turn off the 'line-in' for you when closed or finished.

I don't have a problem as long as another rarely used capture app doesn't interfere with the primary capture app regarding line-in sound.

This did happen as the sound didn’t turn on the primary PVR. I have to fix it manually. It is alright for now.

I noticed that this morning when the digital recorder was on and can hear the sounds on the PC start up or re-boot.

This is normal when the PC starts up and the line-in is on very briefly and then no more.
