    Hello,

Dragon Warrior 3 was one of my faves (nothing could touch Zelda though! - the first one ). I got it with one of those Nintendo Power Magazine deals - game and guide

That site has emulators which use the original games, you only need a copy of the original on hand to legally posess the rom image. If you try the MAME emulator it plays something like 2000 original arcade games. You even have to insert coin by hitting a key.

    Hello,

I know, it's just that I wanted to have the feel of the original controller and the fun of fiddling with cleaning the cartridges!

    Hello,

Anyone remember the game Afterburner? I can't remember who made it. I do remember it was a big deal since they didn't have the license from Nintendo. I guess they "hacked" into it to build the game. I owned it at one point. It wasn't too bad.

The console is such a cool part of nostalgia. I can get a bunch of the games as a ROM and play them on my computer, but it's so much more fun using the original controllers. You can buy new connectors for you NES systems that will clear up most of your problems with the old systems flickering. If you get the chance to get a couple of the 1st release NES consoles, you can open it up and convert it to a top loader system very easily. You'll probably want to find an old PC cube or Micro tower case to make your conversion so the NES guts aren't out in the open.

I thought Guantlet II, Contra & Faxanadu were pretty cool for NES.

Games I want to get that I don't have for SNES are:
    -Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest
    -Prince of Persia
    -MegaMan X
    -Nemo's Dream Quest

Try some rubbing alcohol on the cartridges.
And if that does'nt work, try drinking it.

  8. If you get the newer old 6but nes its better then the first model that came out. They brought it out when Super-NES came out for $50.00 dollars. it was a top down loader.

They are also quite expensive for what they are because people snatch them up on ebay.

The were created when GI Joe was on one Channel and Transformers was on simultaneously on another. soon after, they cancelled the shows and he was left distrought. The mind separated into 2 personalities and once in a while they alternate superiority over the body. One lays dormant while the others gets it's load of favorite show programming. After it's fill, it goes dormant and the other personality comes forth for it's fill. Now that there are DVD releases of both shows, they are learning to work together and be in control as one to restore the natural way of things before the childhood separation.

EDIT - If you're looking for a simpler way of saying it: He just felt like it. :P

    Hello,

I won Ninja Gaiden 1 and RC Pro Am on EBAY!!!

I'm still in the running for Ninja Gaiden 2 (my opinion the best of the series for nintendo original).

I'm going to start looking for the Battletoads series, Double Dragon, maybe Contra, definitely Zelda, and maybe Castlevania.

I have TMNT 2 and SMB1. I may get turtles 1 and 3. The other I want is Super Mario 3.

    Kevin

--I may want to record some cutscenes to video tape and then dub them to my wintv pvr 250 to get my greatest hits collection on dvd! - the wintv can't record live so the game lags behind the controlls--

I got Mario All Stars on SNES. It's been pretty good for me. I love Mario 3. I still cannot finish Mario 2. I also think they should have just released Mario Lost Levels with the regular game when it came out.

    Hello,

I know emulations can look pretty good but I want the originals.

The reason ps1 games probably don't look so hot is the processing power needed to run it. The ps1 is a 32bit video game system. The Xbox is a 128bit (I think). So there's not a ton of free memory to kick around on the graphics. Most of it is probably used to sustain the engine and the rest go to graphics. Not too sure but that's my theory.

    Hello,

    Really????? Wow....

I think it was a radical departure from the top down of the first one. How did it do financially????? I wonder if it did't do well and that's why Zelda 3 wasn't made for the Nintendo but waited for the SNES????

It was nice to actually interact with characters though. The towns were a cute touch. Though it was a little annoying having the battle windows pop up when you searched the forests. It was just a different way of showing the side scrolling scenes. Though I guess that kept some of the top down mapping of the original.

Oh well, to each his own huh??

As far as I know it did well financially.

The only reason they waited for the snes was the nes was dying off.

I still have my SNES, but I sold my NES back in the day. I think I traded it for a SNES game, at a local store.

I also had the portable turbografix console. Cost me several months of paper route money for it, but it was so cool at the time. That was waaaaaaay before gameboy color and incredibly long before gameboy sp advance.

My favorite game was Military Madness. There's a game out for the GBA, called Advance Wars II, which is really similar. It's a turn based strategy war game. This was the first game that I bought for my GBA and I still play it every night. It's kind of like chess, so the replay value is excellent.

    Hello,

Didn't the turbografix have the game BONK????? Or was that another system???

Remember the Game Gear from Sega??? It had a nifty tv tuner add on. Didn't have one but it looked cool. Wasn't it color before Gameboy was??? Boy Sega could never take advantage of its strengths over Nintendo (I was Nintendo, not Sega ).

Pretty much having to run native xbox arcitecture and then imitate another system on top of that can tax a system but it does 16bit systems quite well
