  1. Is Daemon Tool the best software for complete newbies to create virtual CDs? I read their forums and I'm horrified by their software complexity and faults. I need a simple solution, your suggestion is appreciated.

Daemon Tools doesn't create the images, it will only mount them. For creation, it depends on the type of disc... For DVD's, I like DVD Decrypter, for normal CD's, ISOBuster, for copy-protected game CD's, Alcohol 120%. As far as Daemon-Tools for mounting, there's nothing better imho.

Circle Virtual CD works for me (used to be Hekko), it's free so give it a try. You can get it at Download.com:

  4. Thanks, but there are not many positive reviews on Circle Virtual CD. Just curious, why not use GameDrive?

They claim to be #1 in game compatibility and their price is cheaper than most. What do you think?

  5. Deamon tools is what I used for a short time, don't remember if it was a trial or free or what.

Was not hard to use, make ISO of your disk and store it on the hard drive, select it and open (mount) almost the same as anyother file with any other program.

I only used it a short time, had no use for it and don't even have it now.
But it was easy as could be and seemed to work very well.

Now thinking about it, I did have and use a friends system though about that time also while he was traveling Europe. It might have been on his system that I used it.

  6. Daemon Tools = Free

Only mounts images, does not create them
