  1. guys i have this vcd mpeg that tmpgenc cant open or any other encoder come to that , it plays on the pc ok which is strange coz i thought if it would play ok on a player then an encoder should be able to open it

its mpeg1 xvid , gspot returns codecs installed for video and pcm for audio , direct show render only shows audio , nothing in the video path line ?

i extracted it from a dat with vcd gear and used the mpeg fix , just incase any errors where in the file , i have also used mpegvcr to check gop as a kinda last resort , but if i try to do anything else in mpegvcr with the file it just hangs

what is happening do ya rekon ?

  4. if its any use ( prob not ) but when the file is accessed by any app it maxes out the cpu and i have to shut down explorer and then restart it to get the cpu back to idle

i have checked it for viruses and its clean , as i stated before it plays and looks fine in media player classic or core media player

Even though certain of your applications can play it, try to install another mpeg codec form the Tools section at left.

  6. cheers tommy

i actually kinda did that from avi codecs web link on the audio line and i installed from that link the nimo50 codec pack , whatever it installed or replaced sorted me out m8 and the file is now behaving

i guess just a bad codec on my machine somewhere was the culprit

    thanx for your thoughts
