Now THAT would be a kick ass add-on. Free with UPC and S&H or something like that. Mine is a behemoth compared to most today, but I don't take it jogging.

It's good for those long bus-rides and great for traveling.

I'm still looking at getting an iPod. The mini ones are ultimately portable but nowhere near the storage. I think I still want the grand master of iPods so I can store things on it. That and I get a 25% discount on anything at the Apple store 8)

I'm surprised they don't have a 60GB yet. Creative does at about the same size.

  7. Do you really need gigs worth of memory though!? Unless you are using it for transfering other files from PC to PC!

    ViRaL1,

Yours looks pretty cool. I would've liked something like that, but it isn't great for the jog...otherwise that may have been the kind I would've looked into.

  8. For exercise/jogging/etc it's best to have a flash memory-based player.

If it's got a hard drive in it you don't want to be exercising with it at all, as it will damage the drive

    @b.e.

Looks pretty cool! What are the specs on it?

Flash is good for jogging and short trips. I'm not sure what the limit is on flash-based players. I like variety and I don't necessarily want to hear the same 20 or 30 songs all the time, that's what the radio is for. But for maybe a couple hours of music flash is the best choice, and you can always change what's in there if you get bored. For mine, I like the idea that I can just add new music when I get it without having to decide what I want to get rid of to make it fit. If you're looking for larger capacity I know creative makes smaller 512MB and 1GB versions of their Nomad MuVo2 X-Trainer, which is flash-based.

    My specs are as:

Plays MP3, WMA & OGG music files
    256MB Internal Storage
Plays up to 8 hours of music
Transfers music up to 3X faster
    Skip-free and sport-ready
Record music from any audio source (no PC required)
    FM Tuner & Recorder
    Voice Recorder
Store or transfer any file type
Up to 40 hours of battery life

SO I can listen to the radio anyway. It has 256mb of memory, and that fits a whole hell of a lot of music. It's got a 5 year warranty, so if the memory fails I get a new one.

I can also record my sexual therapy sessions with the big boobies attachment.

Well I have one use for the larger size players.... For a party. My computer speakers can work standalone, there really more along the lines of a small home stereo system. I took the spaeker system to a bachelor party. The only thing they need is input from a external audio device. I burned about 20 cd's, one of those large capacity players would have been nice.

I think their 8 hour estimate is pretty conservative. It depends on the bitrate. For example, my Audioslave (about 65min) CD ripped at 160Kbps is roughly 75MB. For jogging and basic headphones though, you may choose a much lower bitrate; but you get the gist.
