  1. I must be starting to sound dumb here, so bare with me !

All ( or most ) of the MPEG files I obtain to burn into a VCD, are nearly always already encoded into NTSC VCD format ( 1150 kbit/sec MPEG-1
    352 x 240 pixels 29,97 frames/second ).

Yet when I out them into VCDEasy , there always seems to be a problem with them. They either require padding or after a specific frame number the data will be lost etc.

During the download process are the files becoming corrupt ? and is there a simple basic MPEG fix program that returns them all into standard VCD compliant mpegs streams ?

They might be of VCD spec, but not multiplexed as VCD. That's what makes VCDEasy pads the stream.
Multiplex the mpg using mpeg tools in TMPGEnc as Video-CD (non-standard).

I have taken on board your advice Mats and use the Simple De-multiplex option and then Simple Multiplex selecting MPEG-1 Video-CD. So far it seems to work and no errors have been reported in VCDEasy. But I still am having issues with some VCD's not working in my Sony DVD player that has the latest firmware revision and should ! play VCD and SVCD.

My other DVDF player will play just about anything I chuck at it ......except its the kids

I take it that MPGEnc is still the best option to De and Re multiplex these MPEG streams ?
