I've been using picvideo's mjpeg codec (latest version) to capture video using iuvcr (quality 16-19 range) and then converting directly to VOB using procoder 2.
first I was getting choppy motion problems. I belive I solved that by changing the field order to 'top first'... Don't ask me why procoder defaults to 'bottom first'![]()
second I was trying to use the 'temporal noise filter' to take a little of the snow out but it's very tricky. Hard to avoid ghosting. The manual is sort of 'light' on information reguarding this filter so I was hoping someone has had some better luck with it. ie suggestions....
third my results without any filters still seem to lack fluid motion during scenes with lots of motion. Any general suggestions on getting good motion from picvideo to mpeg?
Some general how to 'procoder 2' sources would be appreciated too! I'm still learning this software....
Thanks!

I'm such a fool... The source AND target field order must be set to BOTTOM FIRST... I have no idea why I thought it should be top first.
On this note... Why are you given the option? In what case would you want to do top first?? -
If your source is top first then you would want the output top first too
My JVC recorder's files are top first for example.Sorry, I had to go see about a girl
