I was looking to either upgrade my Corel Graphics Suite to version 12, or maybe switch over to Adobe products and I can across this website.

    http://www.adobesoftwareonline.com/

They are selling Photoshop v7 for $79.95. The main page says that they are full version, downloadable packages. Is this for real? Is theis is a warez site?

The cheapest price on pricegrabber.com is $279.00 for an unopened package.

    Any comments?

The company gets away with it, by stating they are providing a copy for the customer. I would never order software from a site like that, but that is just me.

it is simply warez - but hidden warez as they have fine print that you are supposed to read

in other words -- you get the software at that cheap price but no serial number -- and no dongle ... and NO RETURNS or money back :P

this same company used to supply you with a keygenerator (they even said so in thier help page) , but i dont know if they do that any more ...

  5. From their TOS...

"If we do decide or are forced to issue a refund or recieve a charge-back, your debt will be turned over to our collections department and you will be charged no more than one thousand dollars to cover our loss. "

So in other words...if I request a refund and they decide to grant it they can charge my credit card $1,000. That is SOME refund!
No, I'm from Iowa. I only work in outer space.

Great, so in case I don't have a burner, I can pay them $80 to get me a backup.

    Wow, what a deal!

They cannot do that. It is against many, many laws, and against Visa/Mastercard TOS.

Nothing they "say" matters. Not legally.

hhahahaha -- send your credit card number to Eastern Europe --

    AUTOMATIC UPDATES.
Even though you are not able to register the product online you will be able to receive automatic updates of the programs. When updates are ready to install you will see a popup window or an icon at the right bottom corner of your screen. Then you have to click on the icon and follow the instructions.

that is even better -- they also install spyware and a troj on your system !!

Where do I get technical support?
We do not provide technical support. You can find the necessary information on the installation in the program files (usually called “Read me")

also very good support is included ...

A good bank will still protect you, consider this a scam, and you can still easily win a Visa/MC chargeback dispute.

  13. If I were you I would try The Gimp before you buy anything. It is a free open source image manipulation program, found at www.gimp.org. It has almost all the same base features of Photoshop and such, only free.

The Gimp may have the same base features but it has serious user interface issues. It in no way is a suitable replacement for Photoshop.

speaking of photoshop .. you know that older versions of photoshop can be bought for next to nothing and are very very good ... photoshop 3.x for years was considered top of the heap -- it even was ported to sgi machines ... paintshop pro is also an excellent program and older versions (and even new versions) can be bought real cheap ...in fact for some uses - i prefer paintshop pro over photoshop ..

  19. best place to buy software is a college bookstore, assuming you're a student & don't mind a student version.. Those don't come with tech support cause they expect you to get that in your class.

Good point. I personally hate the bloated 7/8/CS interfaces and "pretty" look. Takes too much resources. The "new" version I think are facelifts more than anything else. The healing brush is overrated.

Here's an official copy of Photoshop 6 for $79. Many more where that came from too.
