  1. Hi all...

    I`d like to know where can I find a (preference for open source) software to convert bmp files to one mpeg file. And I`m also looking for an mpeg "decomposer" - mpeg to bmp (or any other picture format, but not yuv). Can you help me?

    thanks in advance

    mpeg to bmp you can do in virtualdubMOD and tmpgenc

    bmp to mpeg you can do in a number of apps - but directly you would have to pay for the encoder ..

    but you can frame serve from virtualdub or avisynth to freeware mpeg encoders

    I`ve just tested virtualdubMOD and it will be really helpfull. By the way, it is open source isn`t it? Do you where can I find the source code? It didn`t came with the file I`ve downloaded, and the readme does not mention a thing...

    You can also code your util tool (c++ or Delphi) with the right components.
    I'm not C++ pro, but Delphi I am. But, I lack the memory where I put some
    source code to:

    * - Open AVI files

    * - Open MPEG-2 files (see doom9, under development (old archives))

    * - haven't done any MPEG - to - BMP though.

    But, it would be easy (I think) to quickly rig up a tiny app to open MPEG files
    and save them to BMP files (real quick too) but I can't help you here.

    If you go into the Programming section on this forum, (or doom9) you might
    get some suggestions if you post their.

    That's about all I can think of to help or suggest to you. Good luck.
