I've always lived by the motto "if it isn't broke don't fix it". Unless your experiencing problems I'd leave them alone.

  3. Is there anyway to download every codec that's ever needed just to have them all?

I have systems NOT connected to the net I want to view some various downloaded vids (demo's, public domain, and other LEGAL stuff)
Although they all worked fine on the system they were downloaded to, about half will not work after moving to the system I want to use them on. Mostly all codec needed problems and I will NOT connect that system to the Net for any reason. I do however have a system here on the home network I could save all the codecs on if I could then let the systems grab what they needed from that as they do from the net.

Most of the time of course the popup box gives no info other than something like conection cannot be compleated for codec download.
And what the heck is an ASF file? It works, but what is it? And is there a guide to convert it. I'll look later, but as long as I was posting thought I'd ask.
