I am only able to put up to 10 min on a DVD.
I am using the sonic MyDVD to make my videos. http://www.sonic.com/products/mydvd/mydvd/features.asp
I have them converted to mpeg2 formats. I am using mp3 audio tracks as background music also. nothing i am using by any means will take up the 5 gig of space on the DVD disk. My video's are no larger than 200 kb.
A few things I think it is. (with my limited knowledge)
1. DVD burner sucks. brand is NU dvdrw ddw-081
2. software to burn to DVD sucks. see above link
3. I am using the wrong format. (but I want the quality I am getting now)
4. making the buttons on the dvd is taking up the space.
there is a error that I dont have atm (but I will get at a later time) that says something to the effect of there is not enough space on dvd. But I know that is not the case. when I convert the dvd versions to windows media format they are 11,000kb, 7,000kb and 8,500kb. In there mpeg2 format I would think that they would fit on a DVD easily.
Please help me. I am tired of ruining my DVD's and have spent about 30 dollars on failed attemps.![]()
anyother info you may need that I have missed please let me know and I will get it.

First thing, buy some DVD RW discs. Use those for test burns.
Second, what are the actual file sizes after they have been converted to MPEG2? -
Hi Natecon,
Two things:
1. It might be (guessing here) that your MP3 audio is encoded with a variable bitrate (VBR) instead of constant bitrate (CBR) - I've seen this referred to as a common reason why encodes are longer than expected. Not sure how you'd tell though. GSpot? AVICodec?
Try using something like VirtualDub to extract / convert the MP3 to a WAV and use that in the DVD audio instead.
2. Buy a re-writeable DVD-/+RW - no more coasters!
Good luck...There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.
Carpe diem.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room.
