  1. I downloaded the live-cd version of suse linux. I was wondering how to save my configurations and files so that I can continue where I left off after a reboot. Also, it only shows the cd drive that the suse linux cd is running in. It will not show my hard drive with 2 partitions and my 2 other cdroms, 1 is a usb and the other is internal. What can I do to resolve these two problems?

  2. your drives must be mounted for contents to be viewed. you can set your config to auto mount. as for your USB, check with your distro to see if your USB controller is supported, and the hardware is configured, and installed correctly.

are you using the personal CD or the Live Eval?
Be satisfied, the day is yours. If i have to explain, you would'nt understand.

live eval. Also, how do I tell it to auto mount? Is there a command I can enter at startup? Also, for some reason the suse live-eval cd only boots in my primary cdrom, not my usb connected one or my other internal. Also, how do I save a config file so I can resume where I left off after reboot?

    regarding USB:

  5. what interface are you using? and what packages installed?
I am using the default interface (KDE). Is there a bootcode or something that I can use to start Gnome or XFCE? The packages are the defaults, remember its a live-cd so its not like I'm doing a custom install. I'll check out those links and get back to you. Thanks.

  6. heh...brainfart. sorry bout that, i went off into custom configs, and tangents when you already said live-cd.

you use Konquerer then? you will have to be logged on as root to be able to save changes to your config/startup files otherwise you can only look...
