i own a pioneer dvr-107d burner. i am using nero and dvd shrink to back up my movies. when i go to back up a movie that is under 2hrs, it takes about 5min to analyse, 1hr to encode and about 20min. to burn at 4x.
if i go to back up a movie that is over 2hrs, it takes about 1hr to anayse, 1hr to encode and about 20min to burn. when its all done, its been about 2and a half hours. my question is, is there any way to speed up the process, either the analysing or the encoding since those seem to take the longest? any help is appreciated.
thanks mike

1hr to analyse + 1hr to encode seems a little slow.
What's your CPU speed?"speed's just a question of money. How fast can you go?" - Mad Max, 1979 -
The rip speed is probably locked so it's analyzing slowly .You could either use another DVD-Rom to rip or use a firmware hack if one is available to allow faster rip speeds.

well, i guess i should have started off by saying im a newbie at this, but the best i can come up with is
256MB DDR SDRAM at 333MHz. hope that answers your question -
You could start here :http://pioneerdvd.rpc1.org/
Look for the firmware for 12x rip .If you are a total newbie and not sure how to update your firmware, please read up on it before doing it.
