  1. I've searched this and other forums but didn't see the exact answer to my problem. Here tis...

I have an iLO brand model DVDR04 set top player and an RCA brand DRS7000N player/HDD combo unit. When I make DVD+RWs from the ILO recorder they will not play in the RCA unit. RCA unit does not recognize the disc. Is this an issue between the recorder burning in DVD+VR mode and the player not able to play in this mode.

If so, then explain...I can burn using Nero Burning ROM v6.3 in DVD-Video mode (which I though was also DVD+VR) and can play using the exact same media with no problem. Can someone explain exactly what is going on and what is the fix?

    Lemme know
    thx

Some recorders like Cybercrap(Cyberhome) and even some BIG name brands just produce "not-so-compatible" discs. You may have one of those machines.

  3. so your saying the rca wont player the +vr mode copy, but will play the finalized? if so, some dvd players just dont play +vr discs.

  4. Actually, I went out this afternoon and got another brand of DVD recorder just to see if a different machine would burn a readable disc for my player and sure as shooting...using the same exact DVD+RW media burned on a different machine (I assume using the DVD+VR write method) it worked just fine in my play only machine. Looks like the iLO (Lite-On) machine is just a little too finnicky and is going right back to the store. I'm keep the other machine that I picked up today. Only results in a $40 difference in price so I'd rather pay not to have the aggravation.

Thanx to all that replied...problem solved.
