    ive used winavi to convert avi to dvd format. I then use nero to burn the dvd folder but there is no sound when i come to play it in my dvd player. Can someone help please

    My guess is that your encoder does not accept dolby ac3 files for audio.

    Extract the audio with virtualdub, then use that as the audio source for your conversion.
