    Hi,

I want to know if it's possible to add subtitle effects in Adobe Premiere. Right now I subtitle episodes using SSA and that's pretty much for dialogue etc. I want to add some special text effects like words flying on screen and cool fades and someone told me that I could do it easier on Adobe Premiere. Also is there a way to do Karaoke on Adobe Premiere also? Basically I want to read up a guide unless someone wants to help explain it to me. I haven't used Adobe Premiere in my life so I'm quite new to it.

I also want to know if it's possible to encode movies to higher quality using Adobe Premiere rather than Virtualdub Mod. Like I have an mpeg-2 ripped from a DVD and I want to encode that to a wide screen high quality movie for televisions such as HDTV. Can anyone provide me some help? Thanks!

virtualdubmod doesnt encode to dvd ...

premiere can do what you want -- but that is a lot of text and scrolling to do for karaoke ..

you can re-encode a dvd to hdtv - yes .. BUT

    1. how are you going to play it back ?
    2. it prob. will look no better - maybe worse ..

ah what I meant was I would encode files from DVD to AVI with virtualdub mod and I wanted to know if adobe premiere could do a better job at that?

And what I meant about HDTV was if I could make a movie on DVD into a widescreen avi with adobe premiere. Also is it possible to add an SSA file into adobe premiere so that when I encode the video I have an avi with hardsubs, while at the same time maybe put in special text effects for the credits?

Check out http://www.wrigleyvideo.com - It's got some tutorials there (under the "Learn to edit" link). Please post back if you find the answer as I have wondered this too (especially the effects with text), but haven't had the time to look into it yet. Cheers.

For DVD to AVI, check out the tool DVD2AVI - there's probably others.

    Hope that helps. Good luck.

Check out http://www.wrigleyvideo.com - It's a site for Adobe products, including Premiere. Please post back if you find the answer as I have wondered this too, but haven't had the time to look into it yet. Cheers.

    Cool thanks for the site!

I actually dont like to use dvd2avi since that doesnt give me the quality I like so I just use virtualdub mod but someone mentioned that adobe premiere could work better that's why I'm trying to give that a go. Anyways I'll read over the link
