Why does your name sometimes stay visible after you log out?

Hello,

While I'm at work I regularly log in and out of this site. Occasionally I'll still see myself logged in even though I'm not. Is this a cookie issue? Or is it internet lag time? Because I'm on a corporate lan at work I can quickly hop on and off the internet. Is this part of the reason?

No big deal I was just curious why it would show my login even though I'm not signed in. It does disapeer after I move to one or two more pages.

If you're not here, does your name go away? If a tree falls in the woods with nobody around, does it make a sound?

Just to see if it would work, I logged in on two different browser windows, and went to two different forums. Then I checked with one to see if I appeared in the other too, but by going there to look, I might have created the entry in "users browsing this forum". So if I'm not there, am I there?
