Shelling SpuMux

I'm pretty far underway with yet another front for DVDAuthor, but I'm stuck at the last part - making the menu. It's spumux that seems impossible to launch properly. If I try to pass the same parameters as you do from the cmd prompt, it just comes up with "WARN: Only one argument expected" and the rest of the syntax. I guess that it's the redirection (< src.mpg > dest.mpg) that's making it freak out, and that I should somehow redirect stdin and stdout, but I've tried to no avail. Last idea is to launch cmd and start spumux from there, but that seems like a workaround, and I don't like that!
God, why has spumux been created this way, why not pass all parameters in the xml file, or simply "spumux a.xml -o dest.mpg src.mpg"?
BTW, my environment is .net, if anyone has any experience with spumux to share, may it be .net or not!

Ha - The shelling thru cmd.exe was indeed the trick! Strange how you can struggle with a problem like this for a day, and Bingo! right when you're about to fall to sleep the solution (often about 1/100 as complicated as every solution you've tried so far) hits you!
