How can I install a codec for YUY2 and or UYVY avi files onto my pc so that software apps can play avi video files encoded using YUY2?

    Your help will be appreciated.

  2. I think installing DivX would take care of that. (YUY2)

The HuffYUV codec can also handle YUY2.

  3. Direct x doesn't seem to support YU2Y. I want to use large uncompressed AVI files (YU2Y), edit them and then as a final step encode them into dvd. I have been told this is the best method to retain quality.
Unfortunaly quick time (I need a codac or something) will not support YU2Y and I need this support for soundsoap. I do not know how to get Adobe to write to a large uncompressed AVI files. I'm 65 and a real newby that need help with getting and installing a codac
