    Hello,

Gspot MAY be able to tell you, I'm not sure though. Another option may be powerdvd. Use the configuration tab to see, again not sure. Good luck.

  4. Look at still frames from it with a program like VirtualDub. If you see comb-like interlace lines when things move it's interlaced.

Don't use a DVD player program. They usually deinterlace as they're playing so you won't see the interlace lines.

  7. A progressive video doesn't have any interlace lines:

Don't trust a program to tell you. They often don't get it right.

Some days ago I posted a similar question: How can I tell if an interlaced AVI is Top Field First or Bottom Field First?

Finally, I got a working solution: Start Tmpgenc, start the wizzard and select the AVI in question. The wizzard will scan the avi briefly and will report whether it's progressive or interlaced and if interlaced the field order. Tried it with a few avi files for which I knew the format and Tmpgenc was correct. I now have a new use for this little-wonder-proggie...
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.
