In Tmpgenc Express 3, I get this message after a few minutes of encoding: read error occurred at address 0057321E of module 'TMPGEnc3xp.exe' with 52FCBC41. I've had to deal with this in Tmpgenc Plus, but I don't see anything in the posts to deal with this in Express. TIA

Personally I would of stayed with TMPGenc 2.5 plus. I'm not sure what options are available in Express, but for tmpgenc 2.5 plus you could change the priority of the directshow multimedia read filter in vfapi, and some other filters to higher priorities. This fix worked for 2.5, but I'm not sure what options express has.
