I'm not a Star Wars fan myself nor a fan of sequels/prequels, but I wouldn't begrudge anyone wanting more.


I only wish people would call the original by it's original title - it's STAR WARS...not A New Hope or Episode whatever :P

I think he should just let different directors have a go at future films with just a minimal set of guidelines. They wouldn't have to be directly related to the other films. The could make a series of films. Kinda like Bond except with a more revolving door type scenario of cast members. Hell...Hamill is chomping at the bit to do another one.

Just think if finally Spielberg got to make one. He's always wanted to.

this is what i think:

-George Lucas should write the story treatments , and help oversee production.

- Steven Spielberg should direct.

-Genndy Tartakovsky shoul dhave alot to dowith the action scenes, and general story progression, he porved his worth with the clone wars (watch it as one movie, its better than any of the star wars films...jedis actually kick ass).

-They shouldnt us eany story that has been written so far, such a thin gwill only get lucas backfire if he's slightly inconsistant with the stories...besides, we all love a new tale.

I'm not losing any sleep over whether these are made or not. I have never been a fan, mainly because my older brother used to watch them over and over and over and over and over again. It really put me off them when I would wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat, having been discussing the progress of the new deathstar with Darth Vader. Was that in ROTJ, BTW ? Admiral Piet or someone ?

It kinda makes me laugh that there are so many people voting for Lucas to have a limited role. After all, the first 6 are all his babies. 9 movies would be the next best behind bond, wouldn't it ?

I've love to see more Starwars movies made. Seem like all the 'good' movies are made in trilogies, or lil bit more there of (Starwars, Raider Lost Ark) etc. Ya really get in to them then they vanish.

The others, well maybe a few of the first are decent, then they have 34 seq(s) of some guy running around in a mask, dingy chicks that fall running
every 2 secs...you know the deal.

Episodes 1-3 stink! The first movies were really good. I think the special effects have gotten in the way and dumbed the movies down. No story for the most part, just unrealistic gee whiz. I'm not sure who the new movies were made for. The effects in the old movies were fine with me.

So many movies today have totally over the top unrealistic effects and or horrible. That whole The Mummy series crap and a number of other movies these days are pretty unwatchable. Luckily a few movies such as The Bourne Identity/ Supremacy keep a more realistic style for the most part and are good films.

One major thing missing from the new films though I think is probably humor (and Jar Jar doesn't count for humor). Harrison Ford did a great job of injecting character and humor into the old movies. None of that is seen in the new movies, and I think that is what really helps to make you actually feel for and like the characters. Who cares for any of the new characters really? The characters are pretty shallow compared to in the old films.
