  1. hey
i wanted to make a video DVD album of a bunch of pictures for my cousins wedding gift of her wedding. i also want transition effects and music. i have a DVD burner so i would rather not make a VCD....since VCDs wont play on all dvd players but DVDrs will play on most..plus i figured the quality would be better if it was DVD......

what is the best program for this??? i used photo2VCD once and it worked very well but like i said i wanted to make DVD not VCD....... any help would be appreciated thx

If your looking for a pro app then take a look at DVD Workshop 2 it has a photo slideshow, I haven't used it but will be upgrading from DVDWS 1 soon and I'm very happy with all my ulead products. It will cost you a few bucks though.

You can do alot with it, the only thing it doesn't have is advaced editing features. If your really looking to spend some money take a look at the Quartet suite or the suite Adobe offers, you get a lot more for a few hundred more.

  5. this is not freeware but ProShowGold is great. You can download a free trial or buy it for $70.00. here is the link.

I've used some of the other software that will do this but the quality was never good. I create a SVCD and a DVD and I was really impressed and it was simple to use I just drag&drop the pics, chose what transition I wanted between pics(lot to choose from) I just chose random. It told me how many minutes of slideshow I have so I picked a song(drag&drop) that was closed to the time, previewed it...look good and burned it to SVCD and HQ DVD. You can also make autorun PC CDs and alot more.

    check it out.
