    Can some one tell me where to get the Linux operating system.i have an old er computer that i would like to try this out on.

    Try Knoppix. It is a linux entirely on CD. You do not install it, just boot from CD and enjoy linux. It does not install or modify your harddrive, but it can access it. This is a great way to test out linux.

    There are many other distributions. Research and enjoy.

    Pretty much type anything in (like download, free distro, Fedora Core, etc.)

    Need to research, there are a lot of them out there.
