    Hello,

    LIONS WON???????

I didn't watch the game at all yesterday. I was shopping at 6 different stores looking for a wireless router, the xbox game adapter and the xbox live kit. BESTBUY was sold out!!!! Luckily I found one at Meijer (a local competitor similar to Kmart and Walmart - started in Grand Rapids Michigan 30 some odd years ago and now reaches out to parts of Ohio and Indiana ).

Anyway - they lose the game they should have forced into overtime last week and now win the game they should have lost because they caved in the second half again!!! CONSISTENCY is not a term the LIONS now well.... One good game they lose then they win a BAD game....

    Hello,

Well another year gone by for the lions - yippee!

Another loss now to the TITANS.

No big suprise. They just don't have enough momentum in the offense to give you confidence that they'll finish off a drive with a touchdown instead of a fieldgoal....

    Let's see - 2-14, 3-13, 5-11, 6-10... Woohoo forward progress the last four years!!!

Maybe we'll get 7 wins next year...

However, I hope the ownership is not to quick to pull the coaching staff. I think with a few more trades, some good drafts, maybe we do much better next year. Go lions!

    Hello,

No it's not all Mariucci's fault. He needs better personel.

The fact that they finally snapped there road losing streak of three years showed that they had something to prove and made improvements....

If we can get a vet QB to spur Harrington and maybe some extra defensive players we MIGHT make 500 next year...

I have to agree. I hate seeing a generous defense that folds just enough to lose in the final minutes of a game. Or mis-snapping PATs to screw yourself out of going into overtime.

Sorry Bills fans. Our third stringers proved you are a year or three away from making the playoffs.

    15-1

    That is truly amazing.

  17. Thank God -- the agony known as the Cowboys' season has ended. Now we can focus on a winning franchise -- the Mavericks.

    Hello,

Wow - Harrington actually got over 3,000 yards passing this season!

The problem was not enough of them were OVER the goal line

But maybe there's some hope. He's probably really insecure now and knows that people are gunning for him to get the yank.

    Hello,

    http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/nfl/recaps/2005/01/08/1527_recap.html?cnn=yes

After playing their way into the postseason by winning their final two regular-season games, the Rams became the first 8-8 team to win a playoff game. Three of the four previous 8-8 teams had lost by double digits.

WOW! I would have thought that would have happened before now....

Didn't watch todays (saturdays that is ) games because I was fooling around trying to get my wireless router back online.... Seems to be kicking just fine for the moment

I thought the Raiders were the only team to ever win a Super Bowl with a losing regular season record. I think I may check this out.

    Hello,

So the VIKINGS smoked the PACKERS huh??? How about Moss mooning the fans??? I didn't see it since I only watched about 1 1/2 quarters. What a head case he is. Up one week and down the next.

Colts and Patriots next week right??? That one WILL be worth watching - should be a 50-42 game!

    Kevin

EDIT - since there are fewer and fewer playoff games each week I'll only start a SUPERBOWL thread when it's set instead of a PLAYOFF thread since this NFL thread isn't getting a ton of hits.

    *Rant Begin*

**** Randy Moss, **** the Vikings, and **** Comissioner Taglibue

I'm sick of these ******* wideouts acting line NBA dropouts. and I'm sick of the league changing rules to protect them.

I garuntee that Terrell Owens would not have planted the football on the Oakland Raiders or Pittsburgh Steelers logo in the 70s. Randy Moss would not have mooned the Dog Pound in Cleveland. Had Joe Horn used his cellphone against the Ronnie Lott 49ers, he would have been using it to call 911.

I could just see Terrell Owes mocking Dick Butkus' pregame ritural...how well do you think that would have worked out for ol' Terrell?

I wish Chad Johnson would have sent Jack Tatum's secondary some Pepto...that would have been a sight to see.

You don't see any running backs doing any bullshit like that do you? No because those guys have to hit those defensive players.

Randy Moss is a punk and I wish nothing more than for him to run a post route and Jack Tatum show up and wipe him completely off the face of the earth.

    *Rant over*

How about them Cowboys? I think their first round draft pick should be USC.

Good Luck to the Patriots next week, would someone please shut everyone else up about how good the Colts are. Last time they won a superbowl Johnny Unitas was the QB...**** Payton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts, you boys ain't going to get there without a defense, and to get there boys, the next 2 weeks you better be able to stop the run, if Pittsburgh gets past the Jets.

I agree with Northcat and Zook on all those points.....

ANd since no one else has said it, I'll be the first -

    HOW 'BOUT THEM JETS!!!!????

They surprised the sh** out of me with that D on Saturady night.... SD is a much different team now then they were when we beat them in week 2.

Our D was so good Saturday that we only had 10 guys on the field for 2 straight plays and SD didn't get a single yard on either play! I was howling!!

We did get lucky that Bartons head shot on Brees didn't cost us the game (that and a missed chipped shot by a rookie field goal kicker in SD). I initially thought the call was because he tackled Brees as he was releasing and I thought BULLSH**! Then they showed the replay and the right forearm that he laid on him on the way down and I had to agree, you have to call that... Sucked at the time, but I'm happier than a pig in sh** that we ended up pulling that out. Just to keep that game as close as we did was a good accomplishment.

Now, let's see what we can do with another shot at Pittsburgh. I predict that Bettis does NOT throw another TD pass this time... Hell, if we keep it close and have a shot at the end, I'll be happy, win or lose... If we get blown out, then

I too was happy to see the Jets win, I dislike Marty Schottenheimer and dislike Drew Brees.

I'm no big fan of the Jets, but I do like Curtis Martin.

But alas there shoozle, I bleed black and gold and I hope my Steelers pound the jets relentlessly.

Why is it everyone here (and perhaps it is just because of my poor location) keeps saying the Vikings thoroughly man-handled the Packers last week? Seriously, the Packers beat themselves. The interceptions (minus one which was just luck) were not because the Vikings secondary were making big plays but because the receivers were running the wrong routes. Otherwise both defenses sucked, as was to be expected. If anything it was the Packers' defense that stepped it up near the end of the game, but because the offense had faltered it was too late for them to pull their weight.

Eagles fans rejoice, the Vikings defense should not trouble you. As long as your defense performs better than the Packers' has all season you will beat the Queens. The Vikings do have a good offense, they're just a Minnesota team and that means they have to choke sometime before getting too far into the playoffs like every other sports team we have.
