  1. Back in 2000, I purchased CoolEditPro 1.1, and then immediately downloaded a free upgrade to version 1.2a. This is a GREAT audio editor, and I use it all the time.

But I just purchased a new computer, have installed version 1.1 from the original CD, and now I can't find that upgrade install file anywhere. Since Adobe has gulped up Syntrillium (and their web site is rather hostile to CoolEditPro users), does anyone have this file or know a source for it? I think it was called cep12a.exe -- or something very close to that. (The demo version install, cep12dmo.exe, is not the file I'm looking for.)

(I should say that the version upgrade only installs if you already have the previous version installed, and requires a serial number to run -- which I have. This is NOT a warez request.)

    Thanks!

I have the legal upgrade file for CEP. it's CEP12ap.exe. The file is 8.8 megs though so I'm not sure how I can get it to you. If you can think of a way, let me know and I'll be glad to send it to you.

I'll play around with Winzip tonight and see if i can maybe split it up into 9 1 meg files or something.

  3. Thanks, Kurt. That would be so great.

I set up an FTP account on my web site. If your internet connection can handle it, you can just upload the whole thing there:

    userid: kurt@videomakersdirect.com
    password: kurt

If not, you can email it to me at:

    cep@videomakersdirect.com

    Thanks!

Rixware, I tried opening up that site both through a browser and Bulletproof FTP and it wouln't let me open the site. Bulletproof woudn't authenticate and the browser found the incoming folder but I couldn't open it up.

PM me with your email addy and we can work something out.

My best to you all. Go Bosox (from a diehard Twins fan)!

Old thread, same problem.... can anybody help?

I've got CEP 1.2a installed on my laptop, and every now and then it asks me to insert my original CD. I don't have my CD available. So I'm not quite sure what to do. Any suggestions?

  16. I eventually gave up on this and upgraded to Adobe Audition (the successor to CoolEdit Pro). There are some enhancements that I've found useful, though it's hardly a revolutionary difference.

Unfortunately, Adobe appears not to be doing much development on this -- as was predicted originally when my favorite audio editor of all time got gulped up by one of my least favorite companies...
