I've got an AIW Radeon for quite awhile, with my audio-out connected to my line-in in my SB card, with the cable provided.

    My question is:

Can I do this internally? I know that the SB has plenty of connectors but the AIW... I'm not sure...

Can anyone point me to the pinouts of the AIW internal connectors? (CD In, CD Out and Video I/O Port)

    TIA

First, you're assuming there are internal connectors for video etc. There aren't. Not sure about your specific card, but most of them do have an internal audio out pin to connect to the sound card internally.

If your sound card has an extra internal input then this can free up your external line in. If you don't use 'line in', or if your internal line in ties up the external line in there's no point. Hooking into the CD in should work, and since the players etc normally read in CD's on the bus instead

If you don't have it handy download the manuals for your card from ATI. Should have the internal connection for the audio listed somewhere, mine does.

  3. There is a very small internal header on some ATI AIW cards. You can connect it directly to the SoundBlaster internally.

I do this with one of my 9000 Pros. It connects to the 'Aux In' internally from the ATI card.

    Alan,

My AIW manual doesn't detail the internal header.

    indo,

Do you have the pinout? Or was it try&error?

I've got an old AIW 7200.

USA ones say AUX. PAL ones say goofy stuff, trial and error.
