  1. OK... I don't know what the rock just happened to my computer, but suddenly my AIW isn't playing back audio. Yesterday, if I turned on ATI MMC 7.6, it would play television with full audio thru my computer speakers and record any captured video with full audio. Now, when I turn it on, it CAPTURES audio, but it won't play it through the program.

So, I went into my Volume Control and fidgeted with the recording controls - if I check the MIDI Synth, CD Audio, TAD-In, Auxillary, CD Audio, or Wave/MP3, it'll play MMC will play audio, but it won't record any to captured files. If I check the "What you Hear" or Line-in, it'll record audio to capture files, but not play it through the computer.

I have no idea what happened - the ONLY things I did on my computer recently is update my Sygate Personal Firewall and install drivers for a USB cable that connects to my cell phone. I've checked and double-checked all the plug-ins in the back of my tower and everything is where it's supposed to be. If I open a MP3 file, it plays fine thru my media player (INCLUDING the media player that's in the ATI MMC bundle) - the only thing that won't play back audio is my ATI MMC TV-capture program.

I've also tried doing a System Restore to a couple days ago when I KNOW it was working - didn't help.

Anyone know what happened, and more importantly, how to fix it?

    Thanks.

Open up the control panel for your soundcard and make sure the aux/mic are enabled. Whichever one you are using. Also check that the record function is enabled.

  3. Ahh, got it. Somehow the Aux functions of the sound card got messed with (no wonder any amount of fiddling with Volume controls was useless).

    Thanks!
