Playback pauses AVI to DVD-R using TMPGEnc method

I have been converting Divx files to DVD-R using TMPGEnc 3.0 Xpress to convert to MPEG then TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.5.20.62 to make the VOB etc files & then Nero 6.0 to burn the files onto a DVD-R (CDREPUBLIC brand which has AZO dye).

This was going ok until last week I played back a file in my standalone player (Limit 9900SE) & towards the end of the movie it started pausing. The pause's are like a layer change but are @ 1-2 seconds apart & last for @ 5 seconds, they are evident until the end of the film therefore making it unwatchable.

I have not changed any settings in any of the Apps. I have turned off all background Apps (firewall etc), disconnected from the net through out the whole process but the pauses are there.

What is going on? Can someone help as I have made that many coasters this week, I thinking of have party & going into the hanging mobile business.

All the files that I have previously burnt still play fine so something MUST have changed at the PC/Authoring end.

Bad disks most likley. Poor dye towards the end of the disk is quite a common problem. Change disk/brand or check with something like Nero CDspeed.

I have used these disks countless times before but I will try anything to sort this.

I will get some different disks later & post results here.

I am trying Nero DVD-CD speed now although it will mean nothing to me can I post the results here?

So you don't think that it's anything I'm doing wrong? At least that makes me a bit happier.
