Hi All

Ive just bought a Pioneer 108 drive and am starting to author some dual layer DVDs.

I use maestro for all my authoring.. There seems to be 2 options for setting the layer break in maestro. One is when you are creating the image from the compiled VIDEO_TS + AUDIO_TS folders and the other is from a chpater/marker on the timeline.

I have made a couple of discs already and so far have set the layer break while making the disc image.. (I havent set a layer break on the timeline) When i play the burnt DL disk back on my set top players its generally ok.. Both players have a small pause at the exact chapter i set the layer break at which tells me its following my break settings during burning (i use decrypter to burn the .img)..

However im wondering if i need to set the layer break from within the timeline on maestro also ? One of my set top players will play back the disc and progress through the layer break without any probs but it hangs when i select a chapter from the menu which is on the 2nd layer..

Is setting the break on the timeline the same as setting the break during the .img creation ? Or do i need it on the timeline also ?

Im wondering if its just the player being picky or something with the authoring.

Also on another disk i have authored the layer break is at the start of a title.. When i look at the IFO file in IFOEdit it doesnt display a layer break at the start of the title at all.. But on the other disk i made with the break midway through the title it displays it fine. Is there some reason for this ?

Any help is appreciated.
