  1. I friend of mine came to work today with an unusual issue. He tried to back up Punisher last night and could not. He used DVDSHRINK and said it got maybe 30 seconds into it and a little animated man with a mask and flashlight ran accross the preview window and then shrink stopped and gave an error. He then tried to use DVDdecrypter to rip to the hard drive and it worked, but the files were about 8gig. He tried to use shrink to shrink the files and said it got to the same spot at the beginning of the movie and stopped again. He also said when he played the dvd on the TV, the little man didn't run across the screen. My first thought when he said he got an error with shrink and ripped with decrypter was he had a dirty/damaged disk, but when he told me about the little man, I thought maybe it was some new kind of copy protetion. Anybody else experiance this? Anybody made a backup of Punisher? Anyboby have any Ideas what may have happened?

I backed it up last night with DVDShrink. I didn't have any problems either.

I would love to see a screencap of the 'little animated theif'

  10. I agree with Gurm. That is complete hogwash. I also backed The Punisher using shrink. I encountered no problems & saw no animations whatsoever....

    Hrm.

After reviewing that other thread, methinks that a review of the original disc is in order.

It's theoretically POSSIBLE that they've monkeyed with the IFOs somehow such that a stupid/novice shrink user might get the wrong thing.

But Shrink stopping and giving an error? What kind of error? I could see the finished product being monkeyed up, but I just don't buy it. That's like when people come on and say "I tried to use DVD Decrypter and after 5% it stopped - must be copy protection!"

I don't have this movie myself, it's on my buy list. Anyone who has it, AND has a clue, want to comment?
