A friend of mine told me to download nero from http://www.cdrsoft.cc. When I log on to this web site, I was able to download nero, but to my horror, I also saw the file directory of my hard drive posted on the web page. The site is written in German, so I don't know what is going on. I was able to get on a page written in English, and there were hacker softwares available for download to control other computers logging on to the internet. Is this right? Someone is looking at my files? Has some software been planted in my computer hard drive? I have cable modem, and I seldom turn off my computer, so my computer is always logged on to the net, Can anyone tell me about this web site? Should I re-format my drive?

CDRsoft is a hackers place, and if you have a CAble Modem and are constantly connected to the net, I would highly suggest you install a Firewall program, such as:
AtGuard
Norton Internet Security
Norton Personal FireWall
ZoneAlarm
and i'm sure there are others im not familiar with.

i suggest you use a firewall like Sefy said next time, this happens to me once but with another site the site was downloading information on my harddrive but it was okay as mt computer was new and i didnt put any personal stuff on it yet but here is a combo that is great to prevent viruses and hackers of your computer:\
Pc-cillin great for virus clean up and it stop bad java and activeX codes to going to your computer
ZoneAlarm=stop hackers in the dust,it put you invisible mode so if you cant be seen you cant be attacked and it is free...rember never go to a site that sounds to good to be true becouse someday u might pay for it
