  1. I have bought from SuperMedia a few times without any problems. Come to think about it I've never had problems with any online media purchase.

  2. I sort of agree with Smurf about foolish to be on hold for 2 hours!!
Use your head, call back 100 times in 2 hours if need be, but why the heck wait 2 hours?? Ok they put you on hold and forget about you hopeing you'll go away, no big deal to them! They just punch a button or lay down the phone somewhere. Your really dumb to wait that long! Now if you call back every 2 minutes, then you annoy the heck out of them and they will stop putting you on hold! Maybe even take care of the problem! Waiting on hold 2 hours will just do them a favor actually because while you are tying up that line they can't get any other compliants from that line and other callers.

I'm not say this store in question in particular, just any place in general!

Now that above may not work that well with voice mail type systems, so then always punch 0 for an operater even when that is not one of the options on the voice menu. Most the time it does get a person, they just don't tell you that!!!

You ever think about that Redail button on the phone?? What do you think they made that for?? Yes, to deal with companies that have hold systems!!

  3. overloaded, some would think you are a fool for calling back a hundred times, that seems like someone who has no life. I woudln't call any place a hundred times, that's just too much trouble and pretty ridiculous to be honest. But that's my feeling. I've personally never been on hold for 2 hours, but I have for well over an hour with reputable companies and I just do work and almost forget about the fact i'm on hold. When they answer I get my problem resolved. I'm sure anubis did the same. I'd seriously doubt they held the receiver saying answer, answer, for two full hours.

But look, that isn't even the point, whether you wanna call back a million times or someone wants to remain on hold isn't the issue, the point is this lordsmurf guy has attacked probably 10 or more people that I'VE read in a three month span and then had the audacity to call them "liars" too because they had issues with supermediastore. This has been mentioned before and I felt the same way some others did, that this guy is spamming supermediastore products, has some two bit site that gives him money when people click on supermediastores link then comes back here to bash people that have issues with supermediastore.

Is this guy serious??? Then if that isn't enough a ton of people say they are having issues with possibley fake MCC or poorly made MCC prodiscs when they had zero issues with the SO3's and he says, ohh, the MCC's are better then the SO3's, c'mon, you can smell that fish from Egypt!

Oh, then he just writes that supermediastore and MERITLINE are good service companies, meritline should be called MERIT"LIE" this guy clearly has a monetary connection with supermediastore and it is SICKENING that he continues to bash people as well as spam supermediastores products. What's worse is he's spamming products that are pretty darn crappy. That's a real, real dispicable.

Holding for two hours might be ridiculous, but I'm a very picky consumer. I wouldn't give any place that would allow someone to be on hold for two hours my business, just out of principle. It's that kind of shit that pisses me off. Now, maybe this was just a fluke case, and supermediastore doesn't do that regularly. But hearing that they let someone hold for that long (and I'm not a pessimist, I'll believe he was on hold that long... if I was at work, and didn't need to use the phone, I'd let the speaker phone get some use... sometimes that music's soothing) definitely doesn't improve my opinion of the place. I'll stick with rima until sms gives me a reason to switch (25 cent TY's? eh? how 'bout it, sms?).

And redialing once or twice might be a good option, but repeatedly? Holy shit that's way more difficult and annoying than waiting on hold. Each time you have to press the same buttons to get to that part where they tell you to wait for the next available operator, and now you're just back where you were the last call, only theoretically (if they actually do the FIFO order they usually claim), you're now at the back of the line. Calling back later does seem reasonable, though.

I guess I just get annoyed with a company when they mistreat a single customer, even if it is abnormal for the company, because I could very easily be that customer. Anytime something like this happens, a company should go out of its way to make it up to the customer.

  6. That's just it. You shouldn't have to be on hold for 2 hours and you shouldn't have to be calling them back 10 times a day. Either way it's stupidity. Take it to the next level and even if you have to cancel your order, your better off. Don't let them boss you around. You are the buyer you have the rights.

Before anyone starts to thinking that I'm an arrogant buyer, let me just let you know that Meritline was the only problem I've ever had. All other purchases from Supermedia, Rima, Newegg, B&J and many others, all went well.

  7. I think a few people missed the point a bit, if you get a PERSON that puts you on hold for excessive time, keep calling back instead of holding!

Yes some very large and somewhat reliable companies do put people on hold for 15-20 minutes quite often, but 2 hours???

And no I don't keep punching a bunch of buttons to call back. Let the PC do your work for you
I did mention the redail button for those who don't know how to set up a Com program like the old TELIX. I don't surf the BBS's but I do use the program still as a phone book for my most used numbers and these type problems and an autodialer for my calls.

Easy to set a program to dail, pause, do the extention numbers, wait a set time, hang up and redail. Have your modem speaker on and a phone connected. Kinda like using your speaker phone, but instead of them just waiting hopping you go away, you bug the hell out of them till you get service.
This methode works great for many things, including busy signals. When you hear a voice pick up the phone and talk, if no voice let it run till you do get one.

I never really had to call back 100 times, but ya, no problem to me if I do.
About 20 to one company once, they finally asked what my problem was and I told them they were! I got help on that call! And I never dealt with them again! It was the about third day I had tried to get the problem taken care of, the other days I'd get put on hold till closing time and when I'd finally hang up and call back I'd get a recording about they were closed and business hours. And when I finally did get the service it was only the threat of chargeback that got results!!

I don't know about the store in question, but I know sometimes you gotta be creative in your methodes!!!
